On July 23, 2021, a Field Day was held at the A.I. Barayev SPCGF, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the largest research and production center for grain farming in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the opening of the first Syngenta testing laboratory in the Kazakhstan.
A.I. Barayev SPCGF annually holds Field Day, demonstrating scientific achievements in the field of breeding of original and elite seeds for all approved, recommended for use varieties of cereals, oilseeds, cereals and perennial grasses of the Center varieties for northern and central regions of Kazakhstan, intensification technologies for the cultivation of agricultural crops with elements of precision farming. This year, event was attended by representatives of the agro-industrial complex, both in the field of science, production, and business. Taking into account the sanitary and epidemiological situation, the work of all sites was divided into 5 sections, all sanitary regulations within the Ashyk application were observed.
Scientists of the Center in the experimental fields familiarized the participants with the results of the study of precision farming systems in the conditions of the Akmola region. In particular, at the demonstration site of the A.I. Barayev SPCGF, retrospective wheat varieties (created in the first years of the institute's development), new promising varieties of soft and durum wheat, naked forms of barley and oats, millet, buckwheat, Sudanese grass, sunflower, flax, peas, lentils and perennial grasses were presented to the participants.
Also during the event, a demonstration of the capabilities of the software and information complex for managing the production of crop products was carried out in conjunction with the S. Seifullin KATU.
Representatives of the Syngenta company presented the first Syngenta testing laboratory in Kazakhstan and held lecture sessions.
It is worth noting that the A.Barayev SPCGF is the leading institution in the republic engaged in applied research on the development of technologies for the cultivation of cereals, legumes, oilseeds, forage crops and the creation of new varieties for the northern, central regions of Kazakhstan. The Center is also carrying out work on the transfer and adaptation of precision farming elements to the conditions of crop production in Northern Kazakhstan.
In the period 2018-2020in SPCGF, within the framework of program-targeted funding, one of the three republican demonstration polygons of precision farming was formed. Demonstration site (polygon) of precision farming is a structural subdivision of the Scientific - production center for grain farming and is an economic, innovative, demonstration, training, production site (test site) for fundamental and applied research, testing, initial testing and development of new agricultural technologies and equipment, including the use of elements of precision farming and provisions for the digitalization of the agro-industrial complex.
For 2021-2023 within the framework of the approved project of program-targeted financing in the specialized scientific direction Smart Agriculture, further deepening and expansion of research on this topic is planned.
The goal of this project is to intensify the implementation of the concept of "Smart" agriculture "in the republic with a focus on high-tech types of crop and livestock products, including on the basis of new technical solutions.
Within the framework of this project, will be solved issues as to improve the precision farming system based on digitalization and differentiation of technological elements, methods of managing the production process and the use of information technology in the conditions of existing enterprises in Kazakhstan. Particular attention will be paid to improving the efficiency of using integrated reference and information systems in the production of crop products as the basis for improving the precision farming system.
