Representatives of the Chinese company “СOFCO Corporation Limited” visited the SPC GF named after A.I. Barayev

  Today, within the business cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of the largest state holding company «СOFCO Corporation Limited» (Beijing), engaged in the processing of agricultural products and the production of food and beverages, visited the Scientific and Production Center of Grain Farming named after A.I. Barayev. The delegation from the Kazakh side included representatives of «National Company «Food Contract Corporation» JSC headed by Dautov D.A., First Deputy Chairman of the Board.

  During the planned visit, the Chinese delegation showed interest in the main areas of collaboration, such as the production of Kazakh grain and oilseed products, related logistics and processing issues, the scale of activities and exports, including the cultivation of wheat, barley, oilseeds and other crops by local farmers in Kazakhstan, including the use of seeds and fertilizers, the use of irrigation facilities, the ability to cope with extreme weather conditions such as droughts and floods, and fluctuations in the quality of wheat harvest in different years. In this regard, the representatives of COFCO International, who are the largest importers to China of such strategic goods as wheat, barley, corn, soybeans, rapeseed, vegetable oil and sugar, were greatly interested in the large Kazakh Center of grain farming, known for its scientific developments on the creation of highly productive varieties and hybrids of grain crops, legumes, oilseeds and cereals based on the achievements of biotechnology, biochemistry of plants for their sustainable production in various soil and climatic zones of Kazakhstan, irrigation technologies and technical means for the introduction of new irrigation lands and also the development of organic farming technologies based on the principles of resource conservation, digitalization and the use of biological products to restore the natural fertility of chernozem soils. Scientific staff headed by the head of the analytical laboratory for biochemistry and technological assessment of the quality of agricultural crops Dashkevich S.M. presented a wide range of ongoing research on improving methods for assessing the quality of grain, selection of starting material for breeding, creation of new high-quality varieties and hybrids of agricultural crops.

  The Chinese delegation got acquainted with the archival exhibits of the period of formation and development of the Grain Farming Center in the Historical Museum.
