On the basis of the SPC of Grain Farming named after A.I. Barayev, a training session was held within the project “Increasing economic self-sufficiency and improving the status of women in rural areas of Central Asia through access to irrigation water and infrastructure was held at the SPC GF” with the participation of local residents of Shortandy district.
The main purpose of the training is to improve water use efficiency and reduce water waste, increase agricultural productivity, promote the issue of empowerment of women and youth in effective management of farm business and irrigation. The participants of the training were warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the Board of “SPC GF named after A.I. Barayev” LLP Savin Timur, wishing them fruitful work.
The training topics included the following issues:
- “Advanced methods and technologies for efficient use of water resources. Implementation of water-saving technologies”
- “Best agricultural practices. Value chain development”
- “Leadership and negotiation skills for women in agricultural management, product development, packaging and branding”
- “Financial capability, to improve women's understanding of financial management and credit, training on basic business management skills such as accounting, marketing and sales”.
The training was held with the support of the Regional Environmental Centre of Central Asia. At the end of the event, the participants of the training were awarded certificates.
