The main trends in the export of grain and flour in the new marketing year are reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and “KTZ” JSC, for 4 months of the 2020-2021 marketing year (July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021), Kazakhstan exported 2 million 734 thousand tons of grain and flour in grain equivalent. Including 1 million 934 thousand tons of wheat and 701 thousand tons of flour in grain equivalent.

For comparison: in the last marketing year, in the first 4 months, about 2 million 617 thousand tons (-4%) of grain and flour were exported from Kazakhstan, incl. 1 million 624 thousand tons of wheat (-16%) and 628 thousand tons of flour in grain equivalent (-10%).

Exports of other cereals (barley, oats, corn, rice, buckwheat, millet, etc.) for 4 months of the 2020-2021 marketing year amounted to 98 thousand tons, including 76 thousand tons of barley, which, as noted above, was imported by Iran.

Most of the wheat and wheat flour this year, as before, was sold to the countries of Central Asia: 1 million 293 thousand were shipped to Uzbekistan, 406 thousand tons - to Tajikistan. Sales volumes to Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan are much more modest - 38 and 11 thousand tons, respectively.

To Afghanistan from July 1 of this year already exported about 593 thousand tons, to China - 194 thousand tons.

In recent years, there has also been a decrease in sales of grain and flour to Georgia, which until 2014 was one of the priority markets. Last marketing year, Kazakhstan sold only 2.6 thousand tons of grain and flour to this country, and in the new one there were no shipments to Georgia at all.

There is also a regularity of the decline in the interest of a number of countries in Kazakhstani flour. So, for example, Uzbekistan, which is the largest importer of Kazakhstani products, purchased 1.3 million tons of flour in the 2011/2012 marketing year, in 2015/2016. - 843 thousand tons, in 2019/2020 m. - 345 thousand, and for 4 months 2020/2021 - only 103 thousand tons.

The exception is Afghanistan and China, which in recent years have only increased the volume of imports of Kazakh flour.

Market participants are traditionally interested in information about the transit volumes of grain and flour through Kazakhstan.

In July 2020, 17.4 thousand tons of grain were transported through the territory of our republic to other countries, in August - 32.8 thousand tons, in September - 25.5 thousand tons, in October - about 25 thousand tons. Kyrgyzstan received the largest volume of cargo - almost 42 thousand tons.

The dynamics of wheat flour transit: 9.6 thousand tons in July, 11 thousand - in August, 8 thousand - in September, 12 thousand - in October. Most of the cargo was destined for Afghanistan - 48 thousand tons.

The total transit of grain and flour in grain equivalent amounted to 160 thousand tons.

At the same time, grain imports to Kazakhstan from Russia exceeded 166 thousand tons.

On November 3, 2020, at the 32nd session of the Regional Conference of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization for Europe, Saparkhan Omarov noted that “despite the coronavirus pandemic, lockdown and related restrictions, Kazakhstan continued to actively supply food to neighboring countries. For 8 months of this year only the SCO countries were supplied with food for $ 1.3 billion. And last year, due to the export of wheat and flour, Kazakhstan fed more than 45 million inhabitants of the Earth."

The minister also stressed that the republic will continue to increase the production of agricultural products and food products, taking into account the growth in demand in neighboring countries. At the same time, not only quantitative indicators, but also product quality will be important. In particular, Kazakhstan has ample opportunities for the development of organic agriculture.

According to the official data of the European Commission, in terms of export volumes, the country is in 9th place among 123 countries supplying organic agri-food products to the EU. And the republic is among the absolute leaders in sales of organic wheat and oilseed flax seeds.скачать dle 12.0
