During the international agricultural exhibition "KazAgro/KazFarm-2021", which is attended by scientists of A.Barayev SPCGF, agricultural producers are showing great interest in the varieties of agricultural crops of the Center's selection. Varieties of A.Barayev SPCGF selection crops with a high potential for productivity and quality were presented at the exhibition. The SPCGF stand was visited by farmers from all regions of Kazakhstan, with intentions to purchase seeds of grain and forage crops of drought-resistant varieties, as well as representatives of Almaty, West Kazakhstan regions, who were mainly interested in varieties of fodder crops. At the stand of the Center, visitors were able to get acquainted with the new varieties of cereals, grain fodder, legumes, oilseeds, cereals and fodder crops created by the breeders of the Center in recent years, also consulted with scientists on the selection of varieties and the peculiarities of agricultural technology of their cultivation, which will be most productive in local conditions.
"Due to the prevailing weather conditions this year, farmers were looking for seeds of drought-resistant varieties of our selection of both grain and fodder crops. It is gratifying that agricultural producers intend to use varieties that have already proven their productivity and quality in their production, as well as introduce new ones into crop rotation such as "Taimas", "Shortandinskaya 95", "Damsinskaya 2017" as well as a number of other varieties of soft and durum wheat, forage crops," the Center's breeders noted.
"Our Center tries to participate annually in the International Agricultural Exhibition, where we can share our developments in the field of breeding and intensive and precision farming. The exhibition is quite popular among representatives of the agro-industrial complex, today many farmers are looking for ways to overcome difficulties, especially drought, to increase not just the productivity of crops by increasing resistance to various factors, and we are willing to advise them," said Ruslan Zhylkybaev, a representative of the Scientific - Production Center for Grain Farming.
Today, on the second day of the exhibition, the First Republican Meeting of plant growers of Kazakhstan was held with the participation of leading industry specialists from all regions of the country. The event was attended by Minister of Agriculture Yerbol Karashukeyev, deputies of the Parliament, representatives of business and civil society.
In his welcoming speech, the head of the department noted that thanks to the heroic work of farmers, 16 million tons of grain and leguminous crops have been collected today, which will fully provide the country, as well as preserve our positions in export markets. Kazakhstan is a key food hub in the region, products are in demand and have high quality.
The pandemic has clearly demonstrated the importance of food systems, its priority and the need to increase production volumes.
The Government has adopted a National project for the development of the agro-industrial complex for 2021-2025, which is a strategic document for the entire industry.
"One of the tasks of the national project is to increase labor productivity by 2.5 times. We need to work on this. The result will be an increase in your profitability per hectare of land," said Erbol Karashukeev.
Also during the event, Erbol Karashaukeev presented departmental awards and awarded certificates of honor of the Ministry of Agriculture to representatives of the industry who have made a significant contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex. Among the nominees of an important agricultural forum was presented Zubrovsky Viktor Stepanovich, an advanced mechanizer of the mechanical service of the A.I.Barayev SPCGF.
At the end of the event, Erbol Karashukeyev congratulated the audience on their professional holiday - Bread Day, wished them health and high achievements.
