Scientists of the A.I.Barayev conducted an introductory educational seminar for students of the 9th and 12th grades of the branch "Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics" in Nur-Sultan, who visited the Center within the framework of the local history research expedition "Tugan elge takzym". The expedition members in the amount of 40 people conduct research in different directions: history, ecology, flora, fauna, industry, agriculture, ethnography and culture of the region, and therefore, to get acquainted with innovative technologies in agriculture, the students met with the scientists of the Center.
The excursion began with a visit to the public museum, where the scientific specialist Proskura Olga Pavlovna introduced the students to the main stages of the formation and development of the Center for Grain Farming, which celebrates the 65th anniversary of its foundation this year.
Students visited the Analytical Center. In the laboratory of biochemistry and technological assessment of the quality of agricultural crops, the head of this laboratory Utebayev Maral Uralovich spoke about the importance of determining the quality of agricultural crops for the breeding process, healthy nutrition of the population and presented modern methods and equipment for scientific research. In the laboratory of soil-agrochemical research, the head of the department, Kunanbayev Kairat Kayirbekovich, acquainted young researchers with methods for assessing soil quality, the volume and variety of analyzes of soil samples for the content of macro- and microelements. During the demonstration of the soil map of Kazakhstan, the participants were impressed by the soil diversity of the natural zones of Kazakhstan.
In the training center, the classes were conducted by employees of the laboratory of precision farming under the leadership of Vladimir Fedorovich Skoblikov. The particular interest among the younger generation was the introduction of digital technologies in crop production, the level of modern agricultural equipment as computers, sensors and digital platforms for managing agricultural production, remote monitoring of farmland using remote sensing and unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the end of the event, NIS students shared their impressions, while noting that they were amazed at how multifaceted and interesting agricultural science is. The staff of the Center hopes that a fascinating and informative excursion, a dialogue with scientists will contribute to the development of a genuine interest in agricultural science among young intellectuals.
