International scientific and practical conference "Intensive farming and breeding of agricultural plants for resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses"

On November 18, 2021 at the Scientific and Production Center for Grain Farming named after A.I. Barayev hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic: "Intensive farming and breeding of agricultural plants for resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan and the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the A.I.Barayev Scientific Production Center for Grain Farming. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakh Agro-Technical University named after S. Seifullin, Scientific and Production Center for Grain Farming named after A.I. Barayev. Among the invited participants were representatives of sectoral ministries, structural divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, heads of agricultural enterprises and companies, domestic and foreign scientists from Germany and the Republic of Israel.
Honored academicians, professors, doctors of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and honorary workers of the agricultural sector took active part in the conference. The wide coverage of the professional spectrum and geography of the participants confirms the relevance of the conference topic and the issues considered within its framework.
The main theme of the International Scientific and Practical Conference is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan and the 65th anniversary of the SPC for grain farming named after A.I. Barayev, an exhibition of applied art was offered to the attention of the conference participants in the foyer in front of the conference hall before the start of its work "My Motherland - My Golden Cradle" by a local artist, Honored Worker of Culture,member of the Union of Artists of the Republic of Kazakhstan, winner of international, republican and regional competitions in painting and bone carving craft Bektas Karim.
The beginning of the significant jubilee International Scientific and Practical Conference was very symbolic with the laying of flowers at the bust of an outstanding scientist, academician, Lenin Prize laureate, Hero of Socialist Labor Barayev Alexander Ivanovich, in order to pay tribute to all who served faithfully to agrarian science and land.
During the conference, welcoming words were addressed to the Center in the speeches of the Deputy Department of Production and Processing of Plant Products of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Khatepova Nazgul Serikkalievna, Deputy Akim of Akmola Region Tatkeyev Malgazhdar Sattarovich, Chairman of the Board of the National Agrarian Research and Education Center NJSC Isaeva Gulmira Sultanbayevna, Chairman of the Kazakh Agrotechnical University named after S. Seifullin Aituganov Kairat Kaparovich, Chairman of the RSE "State Commission for Variety Testing of Agricultural Crops ", Talgat Bolatuly Azhgaliev, Deputy Director of the RSE"National Center for Biotechnology", Kasym Kasenuly Mkanov, Academician of the Academy of Agricultural Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Corresponding Member Meirman Galliola Tulendinovich, ex-senator of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Honorary Citizen of the Shortandinsky region Amangeldy Khamzenovich Syzdykov. The presentation of the Chairman of the Board of SPCGF named after A.I.Barayev Serekpayev Nurlan Amangeldinovich on the activities of the SPCGF named after A.I. A.I.Barayev for the coming years, on intentions for further cooperation with research institutes and business structures in the agricultural sector. During the plenary session, a solemn ceremony of awarding the participants of the conference with anniversary medals "65 years - SPCGF named after A.I.Barayev", who made a worthy contribution to the formation and development of SPCGF named after A.I.Barayev, took place.
In turn, it is worth noting the well-deserved attention and high appreciation of the work of scientific workers in the framework of the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of the Center from the sectoral ministry, the Ministry of Agriculture, NASEC, S. Seifullin KATU, the Industry Trade Union, local executive bodies, since the conference was preceded by a number events in the staff of the Center, where they honored worthy workers in science and industry, veterans with medals, certificates of honor and letters of gratitude from the branch ministry, NASEC named after A.I. Barayev, akim of Akmola region and Shortandy district.
This year, more than 150 reports were submitted to the international conference from research institutes, universities and industrial enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan, far and near abroad. After the end of the plenary session, in the sectional part of the conference, reports were presented on topical problems of agriculture, crop production, breeding and seed production and ways to solve them. As a result of the conference, all conference materials will be published on the official website of the A.I.Barayev SPCGF www.baraev.kz.
The conference was organized in two sections. In the first section - "Agriculture, plant protection, ecology and fodder production", in the second section "Breeding of agricultural plants for resistance to abiostressors - the basis for sustainable development of agriculture."
A keen interest was aroused by the reports presented at the plenary session: "Development of virgin agriculture: history, prospects" Akshalov K.A; “Digitalization is the basis of efficient and sustainable agricultural production in the Republic of Kazakhstan” - Skoblikov V.F.; Optimizing agricultural soil management in Germany by catchcropping - Guggenberger G.; "Agrobiotechnology to improve the efficiency of agricultural production" - K.K. Mukanov; Scientific foundations and practical methods of soil fertility management in Northern Kazakhstan - Chernenok V.G; “Soil organic carbon in soil softhe Kulunda Steppe, Russia, as controlled by climate and land use” - O.B. Shibistova; "Evaluation of hybrid forms of alfalfa with the participation of its wild relatives (CWR-forms) in the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan for selection for resistance to abiotic factors" - Meyirman G. T; "Registration of varieties in the Republic of Kazakhstan" - Azhgaliev T.B. “Achievements and prospects for the development of spring wheat breeding at the A.I. Barayev" - A. Babkenov; "Evaluation of the best quality varieties of spring wheat, created in the"SPCGF named after A.I. Barayev"- Dashkevich S.M. Breeding domestic varieties of spring wheat, soybeans and sunflower hybrids. Implementation of modern farming practices in "OHMK" LLP - F.K. Abitaev; "Achievements in the selection of soybeans in the "OHMK" LLP Grigorchuk N.F.
In their speeches, the speakers raised urgent problems, shared the results of research on the cultivation of crops in the context of global climate change, the introduction of elements of digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex, the creation of new promising varieties and also the issues of combating water erosion and other pressing issues of cooperation between science and business.
At the end of the conference, a resolution was adopted that will serve as a guide to action for scientific institutions in close cooperation with the Center for Grain Farming.
Also, the attention of the conference participants was offered a demonstration of a new documentary film "Cost of Bread", created by the author group "DALI" by order of the management of the Barayev SPCGF. It reflects the milestones in the formation and development of the Center for Grain Farming, known outside our country. Distant memorable pictures of the last century, the period of the virgin epic, the subsequent peaceful creative years with its major scientific achievements, which became the property of all agricultural science thanks to the tireless work of outstanding luminaries of agricultural science and their followers, the years of diversification of the agricultural industry of independent Kazakhstan, the present with its urgent tasks and the future is invisible aimed at discovering new resource opportunities of the Center formed the basis of this picture, revealing the difficult but noble work of modest scientists, representatives of agribusiness and ordinary field workers with harsh everyday life in the battle for the harvest.
