Grain Farming Center named after A.I. Barayev is in the thick of the events

  Today, the Scientific and Production Center of Grain farming named after A.I.Barayev was visited by Minister of Agriculture Saparov Aidarbek Seipellovich and Akim of Akmola region Akhmetzhanov Marat Muratovich. During the working visit, they got acquainted with the progress of field work and the state of the breeding and seed-growing work of the scientists of the Center and the ongoing measures to introduce agrotechnologies in the farms of the region. The informative part of the conversation was continued in the analytical laboratories of the Center, special attention of Minister Aidarbek Saparov was paid to scientific research that has been developed by scientists in recent years to improve the quality and technological assessment of the quality of crops and soil fertility. Further, Timur Vladimirovich Savin, Chairman of the Management Board, presented to the high guests the scientific and practical achievements of the Center in the field of agriculture and breeding, reflected at the exhibition of breeding achievements, agrotechnologies and the introduction of precision farming, and during a conversation with scientists, the head of the department focused on issues of interaction between scientists and farmers in the region.

  Weather conditions did not allow us to visit the experimental sites where researchers from the laboratory of spring soft wheat breeding began work on crops in breeding nurseries. Scientists have already completed the sowing of the nursery of the competitive variety testing and the demonstration nursery. Next, the so-called breeding nurseries of the first year of varieties such as Shortadinskaya improved 95, Shortandinskaya 2012, Shortadinskaya 2014, Taimas and a line for transfer to state testing will begin sowing PIP 2 of the future harvest. The approximate breeding area of breeding nurseries is 1 ha. SSFC-7 is used in breeding nurseries, MTZ 82.1+SPK 2.1 work in breeding nurseries.

  Also during the meeting, the guests visited the historical museum of the Center, where they got very interested in its unique exhibits and photographic documentaries, reliably reflecting the stages of formation and development of the Center of Grain farming.

  With due attention, the head of the branch department listened to the opinions of scientists on improving the structure of arable land use in the soil and climatic zones of the target region, crop diversification, conservation and effective use of soil moisture, soil protection from erosion, preparation of seed material for sowing, cultivation of cereals, forage, legumes, cereals, oilseeds, annual and perennial forage crops. They also touched upon the issues of wider application of elements of the precision farming system by farmers of the region during spring field work.
