Yesterday in Kokshetau, representatives of Arizona University met with Akim of Akmola region Marat Akhmetzhanov, where the parties discussed the possibility of educational cooperation. The meeting was attended by heads of interested departments, representatives of Kokshetau University named after Sh. Ualikhanov. The main purpose of the event was to plan joint priority research aimed at increasing crop yields and increasing food production in the republic, involving the scientific potential of both sides and the possibilities of agribusiness in the region, which would open up new opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of agricultural research and development. It should be noted that this event is a continuation of the previous meeting in April this year, where the parties discussed the main ways of cooperation in the field of agriculture and science. During the meeting, it was noted that Akmola region is interested in developing relations with successful researchers in the field of agriculture at US universities to unlock the resource opportunities of agriculture in the northern region.
Further, as part of this business visit to Akmola region, a delegation consisting of scientists from the University of Arizona, Dr. Burgess, Dean of the School of Agronomy, Environment of Life and Society, Dr. Fitzsimmons, Director of the International office of the School of Agronomy and Mr. Hugh Holman, Honorary Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Arizona and Kokshetau University.named after Shokan Ualikhanov, headed by Rector Marat Syrlybayev, visited the Grain Farming Center named after A. I. Barayev.During the familiarization with the activities of the famous Kazakh scientific Center, the parties discussed a range of issues related to the scientific and educational process between the scientific center and universities, agreed on further cooperation in terms of possible joint scientific research in the designated areas. The exhibition of breeding achievements of scientists of the Center and agrotechnologies and the museum aroused great interest of foreign guests, where they got acquainted with the history of the formation and development of the Center with great attention.
In turn, the foreign colleagues thanked the management for the warm welcome and the time they spent, told about the activities of the University of Arizona and plans for the coming period.
