“Tukym 2025” Seed Day in Akmola region

Today, on February 7, Kokshetau hosted the international conference and exhibition «Tukym Seed Day 2025», which brought together experts in the field of agriculture. This event has become a unique platform for sharing experiences, discussing topical issues and developing cooperation. The main objectives of the conference were the analysis and discussion of current trends in crop production, searching for innovative solutions for the production of high-quality seed material, as well as improving the efficiency of agricultural production.
The conference began with the session «Strategy for the development of crop production in Akmola region». The provision of high-quality seeds in the region was discussed during the session. Experts, scientists and representatives of local authorities noted the importance of science and innovation to increase crop yields and resistance to changing climatic conditions. The Chairman of the Management Board of the Center, T.V. Savin, spoke about breeding achievements, including 111 varieties registered in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Kazakhstan, including varieties of wheat, forage, cereals and oil crops, as well as perennial grasses. He stressed the importance of agricultural technologies and their adaptation to the climatic conditions of the region, the development of seed production based on domestic varieties, crop protection, as well as training and consultations for specialists.
Timur Vladimirovich also noted the importance of international cooperation and exchange of experience as key factors for the successful development of the industry. In the context of global challenges such as climate change and economic instability, the development of domestic breeding and seed production is becoming a strategic task for the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan.
During the conference, topical issues of agribusiness were discussed. The leading breeding centers of Russia, whose varieties and hybrids are widely used in the northern regions of Kazakhstan, also took part. Farmers of Akmola region were able to purchase seeds and learn about promising areas for processing agricultural products, including wet grain, which is an important issue today.
