A comparative study of spring wheat, barley and oats
News
In the group of breeding spring soft wheat for resistance to drought and stress factors of SPCGF named after A.I. Barayev to identify varieties resistant to abiotic and biotic environmental factors in conditions of insufficient moisture, a comparative study of spring common wheat, barley and oats is carried out.
Five varieties of each crop are included in the study. Throughout the growing season, phytomass productivity, hay and grain productivity are taken into account.
Observations were carried out at different phases of plant development: sprouting, eating, getting into the tube - flowering, flowering - milk ripeness.
At the beginning of August, plants had the following indicators: soft wheat - height 77 cm, plant weight from 1 m2 2128 g, density 324 pcs. on 1m2; barley - height 67 cm, weight of plants from 1 m2 2234 g, density 512 pcs. on 1 m2; oats - height 68 cm, weight of plants from 1 m2 2034 g, density 581 pcs. on 1 m2.
The results of a comprehensive assessment of the total biological and grain productivity of spring common wheat, oats, and barley will make it possible to establish varieties with high drought tolerance and adaptability potential.
