One of the main goals of the development of agricultural science is the practical application of the results of scientific research. This is served by the system of knowledge dissemination of “NASEC” NJSC, consisting of 22 Centers of knowledge dissemination, one of which is the “Shortandy” KDC in the Scientific and Production Center of Grain Farming named after A.I.Barayev, which has ten years of practical experience in spreading innovations in crop production.
The purpose of the work of the KDC is dissemination of knowledge and introduce modern and effective agricultural technologies and innovations into agricultural production, by conducting training events and consulting agribusiness entities, depending on the needs of agribusiness. The directions of activity are determined by the implementation of government programs for the development of agriculture, design developments of agricultural science in priority areas, as well as the transfer of modern world technologies tested in local conditions and applied in practice in advanced farms of Northern Kazakhstan. In 2022, at the SPCGF named after A.I.Barayev conducts scientific and practical research in the field of agriculture on the following projects: “To develop a system of agriculture for the cultivation of agricultural crops (cereals, legumes, oilseeds and industrial crops) using elements of cultivation technology, differentiated nutrition, plant protection products and equipment for cost-effective production based on a comparative study of various cultivation technologies for the regions of Kazakhstan”, “Development and scientific substantiation of technical and technological parameters for the adaptation of space sensing technology and precision farming to the actual production tasks of agricultural entities and the formation of the necessary reference database for this”. A lot of work is being done in the field of crop breeding, new high-yielding drought-resistant varieties adapted to regional conditions are being created. The Center employs recognized scientists who are involved as experts and lecturers in training events and consulting.
The SPCGF has the entire infrastructure for conducting training events: equipped classrooms, demonstration areas. Since 2018, digital technologies have been being worked out at a precision farming landfill with an area of 3,000 hectares. Over the entire period of operation of the KDC, more than 3,000 people have been trained at seminars, more than 2,500 people have attended field seminars and Field Days, consulting services have been provided to 1,500 agricultural producers. As participants of the events, mainly managers and chief specialists of agricultural enterprises, peasant (farm) farms from Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Pavlodar and other regions are involved. Regional distribution: Akmola region about 60%, North Kazakhstan region 36%, other regions 4%.
Work with the subjects of the agro-industrial complex is carried out at their own expense, on a commercial basis, and free of charge at the expense of the budget program 267 “Increasing the availability of knowledge and scientific research” of subprogram 100 “Information support of the subjects of the agro-industrial complex free of charge”, within which 2 training seminars and consulting specialists in nine farms were held in 2021.
“Shortandy” KDC this year works in the format of seminars and webinars (online form), carrying out activities to disseminate knowledge at its base and at the demonstration sites of partner farms. So in 2021, by expert consultants of the SPC GF named after A.I. Barayev held seminars on precision farming in all districts of the Akmola region. This year, training continues in the direction of precision farming, theoretical and practical studies are conducted on the formation and work with electronic field maps, task maps for on-board computers, parallel driving and differentiated fertilization, yield mapping.
Scientific support of farms is conducted in the following areas:
- Agrochemical examination, recommendations on mineral nutrition of cultivation of agricultural crops;
- Consulting of agricultural production offline and online;
- Scientific support of seed production, followed by obtaining the status of a seed farm;
- Scientific support of seed production and varietal agrotechnics of elite seed and seed farms;
- Introduction and transfer of innovative technologies for the cultivation of agricultural crops, including precision farming.
The forms and methods of informing the activities of the knowledge dissemination system are also changing. The site is actively involved www.baraev.kz, consulting is conducted in social networks (Facebook, Instagram), where practical recommendations, infographics and video materials are posted. On the website of the Center there is an opportunity to ask questions to our experts and get a detailed answer in the “FARMER” section. Work is underway with young people to popularize modern methods of IT-agronomy and the attractiveness of work in agricultural science and agriculture.
The long-term development plans of the “Shortandy” KDC for 2022-2024 include an increase in the coverage of the ATP with the activities of the knowledge dissemination system.
