Patents have been obtained for breeding achievements soft spring wheat «Taimas» and lentils «Sakura».

   Since 2022, a new variety of spring soft wheat (T. aestivumL.) – Taimas, breeded by “SPC GF named after A.I. Barayev” LLP, has been included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  Taimas by the type of maturation refers to medium–ripened varieties, the variety is Erythrospermum. Short-stemmed, the average height of plants is 60-70 cm. According to the research results, it was noted that with a decrease in plant height, a change in growth functions is associated, that is, a redistribution of biological material occurs, due to which grain yield increases.

  The new variety is resistant to brown rust (P. triticina Eriks.), lodging and drought. According to the results of molecular analyses, the genes of resistance to brown rust – Lr19 and Lr37 were identified. A coarse-grained variety, the mass of 1000 seeds can form up to 40 g. According to technological indicators of grain quality, the Taimas variety belongs to strong wheat: the content of raw gluten is 32.3–34.5%, protein is 15.1-15.7%. The variety is high–yielding, over the years of study it has formed the maximum yield - 38.5 c / ha.

  Since the variety is the real basis for obtaining high sustainable crops, it must meet the needs of the producer; meet the growing conditions in the territory for which it is created. The new variety is recommended for cultivation in the conditions of Northern Kazakhstan.

SAKURA LENTILS

     The shape of the bush is erect, compact. Branching and leafiness are average. The beans are cylindrical, medium-sized, 11-14 mm long, 5-7 mm wide, with a pointed tip, mainly 2-seed. The resistance to cracking of beans is high. Seeds are spherical, medium, pink. Cotyledons are pink. The weight of 1000 seeds is from 53.6 to 77.7 g, the protein content is up to 32.67%. A variety of early ripening type. The duration of the period from germination to ripening varies from 91 to 117 days. In comparison with the standard variety, it differs in the uniformity of maturation. Damage by pests is weak. In the nursery of the competitive (ecological) variety testing 2015-2017, the grain yield of the new variety averaged 11.26 c/ha with the yield of the Vekhovskaya variety – 10.04 c/ha, the excess was 1.22 c/ha. At the same time, it is noted that the new variety is characterized by early maturation. In the production variety testing in 2016, the yield of the new variety was 17.55 c/ha.
