New Agricultural Counsellor for the CIS Countries Raphael Jozan Visits the SPC GF named after A.I. Baraev

On 30 September 2026, the Scientific and Production Centre of Grain Farming named after A.I.

Baraev received a working visit from Raphael Jozan, the newly appointed Agricultural Counsellor for the CIS countries at the Regional Economic Service of the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan. As part of the visit, a working meeting was held with the management and researchers of the Centre, during which the key areas of the Centre’s activities were presented. Baurzhan Kalibayev, Head of the Centre, introduced the French diplomat to the organization’s research and production activities, ongoing studies, as well as its achievements in plant breeding, seed production and agricultural technologies. The meeting also focused on promising areas of cooperation, including scientific collaboration, seed testing and breeding, as well as the exchange of expertise and the development of professional ties between relevant organizations of the two countries. Particular attention was given to the upcoming visit to Kazakhstan by SEMAE, the French interprofessional association for seeds and plants. It was noted that the visit would provide an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation between French and Kazakh partners in seed production, plant breeding and agricultural technologies.

The French side expressed its gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality and emphasized its interest in further developing cooperation with the Centre. The parties also expressed their intention to continue working towards establishing sustainable cooperation and concluding appropriate cooperation agreements.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening scientific and professional ties, implementing joint initiatives and further exchanging expertise in the fields of plant breeding, seed production and agricultural research. The meeting marked an important step towards developing practical cooperation between relevant Kazakh and French organizations and creating new opportunities for joint work in the agricultural sector.
