A group of breeding spring wheat for resistance to drought and stress factors took part in the organization of sowing and design of the demonstration plot of the experimental field.
Sowings of various crops are located on plots of 100 m2. Varieties of wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, millet of grain and fodder use and Sudan grass were sown. The studied set of crops presents well-known common varieties and breeding novelties.
Indeed, during the growing season of these crops, a gradual increase in the aridity of the climate is possible. It should be noted the contribution of breeding to increase the yield of new varieties of spring durum wheat.
This achievement is connected both with the creation of early-ripening varieties that can “get away” from spring-summer droughts, and tolerant varieties that can withstand the effects of stressors, this can be seen on the basis of data on new-generation varieties with high adaptive potential created by breeders of our Center and durum wheat varieties included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements: Lavina, Damsinskaya yubileinaya, Damsinskaya 20-17, soft wheat varieties: Shortandinskaya 2012, Shortandinskaya 2014, Asyl Sapa, barley varieties: Tselinny 60, Tselinyi 60, Tselinyi golozernyi, Astana 17, oats: Bayzat, Duman , Antey, buckwheat: Shortandinskaya 5 and Shortandinskaya 6, millet varieties: Kredo, Ukosnoe 1, Ekspromot and the first variety of Sudanese grass Nika, whidh was created in collaboration with scientists from the Russian Federation.
