Timely collection of approbation sheaves

Scientists of the SPCGF named after A.I. Barayev track the timing of approbation or registration of varietal crops of agricultural crops.

At the scheduled time, the employees of the Seed and Plant Growing Department are collecting approbation sheaves with preliminary field surveys of seed sowing in order to determine its varietal purity, or plant typicality, infestation, disease and pest damage, assess the varietal qualities of crops and the quality of work carried out on sites of hybridization.

Seed crops of varieties and hybrids included in the State Register of varieties admitted for use in production, for which the relevant documents are drawn up and the harvest from which is intended for sale, are subject to approbation.

Each crop has its own testing methodology, which depends on the phase of plant development, the sowing area for the selection of the sheaf, and the number of stems in the sheaf.

Approbation and registration of varietal crops is carried out by accredited specialists. Sowing qualities are determined by sampling by accredited selectors from lots of seeds and testing their sowing qualities in laboratories registered in the voluntary certification system, as well as by accredited legal entities and individuals.
