Seedlings of winter wheat are in good condition in the south of Kazakhstan

In the Almaty and Zhambyl regions, the state of the seedlings of winter wheat is assessed by forecasters as good.  Sowing work continues in the Turkestan region.  This is reported in the brief agrometeorological review of Kazhydromet for the first ten days of November.

 “In the Almaty region, on the sowing of winter wheat, during a decade at the observed sites around the meteorological stations Akkainar, Kyrgyzsai, Sarkand and Taldykorgan, a phase was noted: seedlings - tillering.  The condition of the plants is good, the height of wheat in the vicinity of Akkainar station reaches 13 centimeters, ”forecasters report.

 In Zhambyl region, on the observed crops of winter wheat, the germination phase was noted, the condition of plants is generally good.

 In the Turkestan region, sowing of winter wheat continues in the observed areas, the quality of work is good.

 At the same time, Kazgidromet reported that in the areas of winter wheat cultivation in the south and southeast of the republic in the first decade of November, there was a decrease in air temperature at night to -3 -9 ° С, in some places to -10 ° С.  Frosts caused the termination of wheat vegetation in some areas in the vicinity of the Uzynagash and Aksengir meteorological stations of the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region.

 Short-term precipitation was favorable for the accumulation of soil moisture.
