The harvesting of forage is in full swing at the A. I. Barayev SPCGF
News
The weather in April, May, June was with high temperatures. For farmers, it was the hotest temperature in summer. How the employees of the A.I.Barayev SPCGF live and work at this difficult time can be judged by the very tense planned work schedule, the effectiveness of which will be shown by the results of the harvest.
Today, the Center is in full swing harvesting fodder, which represents a wide palette of varieties and types of perennial legumes and cereal grasses that are so necessary for the creation of hayfields and pastures.
The profitable and successful development of animal husbandry is largely determined by the creation of a sustainable fodder base, which ensures health, an increase in the number and safety of farm animals, an increase in productivity and an improvement in the quality of livestock products.
In order to provide feed for the livestock of various types of livestock in the personal subsidiary plots of the Center employees for the winter stall period of 2021-2022, it is required to prepare 150 tons of hay, 150 tons of straw, 150 tons of grain forage.
At present, the A.I. Barayev SPCGF is mowing perennial grasses for hay, and fodder crops and grassy vegetation of natural hayfields have already been mowed on an area of128 hectares. At present, they have picked up from an area of44 hectares and prepared 25 tons of hay.
The current dry season without rains in June and earlier late sowing dates in the second decade of May make themselves felt, the height of the grass stand is not so high compared to last year, but nevertheless, forage harvesting is proceeding according to the planned and recommended harvesting dates during the period of cutting ripeness. Specialists and machine operators of the production department of the SPCGF are well aware that hay harvested at the optimum time during the mowing ripeness of grasses is a valuable and nutritious feed for many farm animals. It is high in vitamins, minerals and protein. The cut grasses are finally dried in rolls, due to which, in favorable weather conditions, it is possible to reduce the loss of the most nutritious parts of plants, which include leaves and inflorescences. The machine operators try to use every hour efficiently, especially since the Center has everything for the successful hay harvesting: fuel and pre-repaired and prepared for haymaking tractors and forage harvesting equipment.
According to the head of the Center, Nurlan Amangeldinovich Serekpayev, the most important thing during the haymaking period is to timely mow all the planned areas of sown perennial grasses and natural lands intended for haymaking, without leaving a single hectare, rationally using the available forage harvesting equipment. The staff of the Center is large, both scientists and production workers work here, many of whom have their own backyard farms, where they keep cattle, small cattle, horses and poultry. In this regard, first of all, we try to provide our employees with fodder at prices below market prices, and this includes hay, and straw, and waste. This is a kind of social responsibility, we want the staff and employees of the Center to have fewer problems in this regard. In turn, this will affect the productivity and social well-being of our team.
