Every year during this pre-sowing season, farmers are looking forward to practical recommendations for spring field work, developed by scientists of the SPC GF named after A.I. Barayev. They reflect the peculiarities of this important agricultural campaign, taking into account the prevailing weather conditions, organizational and resource support of farms. Today, any employee of the agricultural sector can get acquainted with them on the official website of the Center baraev.kz.
On April 13, a seminar was organized on the basis of the Knowledge Dissemination Center, in which heads of agricultural formations, heads of peasant farms, agronomists of the Shortandinsky, Akkol, Arshalynsky, Bulandynsky, Egindykolsky, Sandytau, Tselinograd districts of the Akmola region and neighboring Karaganda region actively participated. At the same time, a video conference was organized on the Zoom platform, in which agricultural producers from Akmola and North Kazakhstan regions were present online.
During the seminar, scientists Zabolotskikh V.V., Head of the of Biological Agriculture Laboratory, A.V. Verner, Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of Agricultural Technology of Field Crops and Crop Diversification, A.K. Tuleeva, Senior Researcher at the Plant Protection Laboratory, A.A. Kiyas, Head of laboratory of crop rotations, Nazdrachev Ya.P., head of laboratory of agrochemistry and fertilizers, Akshalov K.A., head of laboratory of agro-landscape and adaptive technology, Skoblikov V.F., Head of laboratory of precision farming, Shelayeva T.V., Senior researcher at the Laboratory of spring soft wheat breeding and Filippova N.I., head of the Department of perennial herbs breeding in their presentations, taking into account the current agricultural year, revealed the zonal features of crop cultivation: resource-saving tillage techniques, effective use of chemicals, recommended types of crops, crop rotation schemes, the ratio of varieties of various types of maturation in the structure of acreage, features of the use of digital technologies, preparation of seed material for sowing and the main elements of agricultural technology sowing works. (All video materials with the speakers’ speeches will be posted on the Center’s website and social networks).
It should be noted that the moderator of this important seminar, scientist Akshalov K.A., immediately placed emphasis on feedback between the participants and therefore on the dialogue platform everyone could speak out on a particular problem, ask questions and get answers. A broad exchange of views on the designated topics, trusting relations between scientists and practitioners, a businesslike attitude to the organized conduct of the upcoming sowing campaign — all this met the goals and objectives that the organizers, represented by the Academic Council of the Center, set for themselves. The established tandem between these parties will continue in the field during scientific support of production experiments and other planned activities with the participation of scientists of the Center initiated by agricultural producers. Also since last year on the official website baraev.kz in the FARMER section, direct access to experts, scientists of the SPC GF is open for everyone to get advice on any topical issues of agrotechnologies, crop production and seed production online.
After all, in the agricultural sector, our scientists have firmly taken their important place thanks to scientific recommendations based on specific scientific research, which, provided they are reasonably applied, allow farmers to significantly improve their results. Science does not stand still, today scientists actively have the opportunity to study the practices of other countries with similar climatic conditions, use modern equipment and innovative developments in agricultural technologies in their research and focus on a reasonable response to the challenges of the time. Summing up the event, Akshalov A.K. summarized the results of the discussion on the designated topics, stressed the importance of sharing practical experience in cultivating crops in the face of climate change, and the need to put into practice the results of research projects presented in practical recommendations for farmers.
