Akhmetov Kursan Aznabaevich, one of the scientists of the Scientific-production center for grain farming named after A.I.Barayev.

K. Akhmetov was born on December 10, 1942 in the village Mironovka of Adamovsky district. In the period from 1960 to 1965 he studied at the Tselinograd Agricultural Institute. In 1973-1976 he completed postgraduate studies at the All-Union Scientific Research Institute for Grain Farming. From 1976 to 1979 he worked at the All-Union research institute for grain farming as a research fellow in the crop rotation laboratory. Since 1986, he became head of the crop rotation laboratory and subsequently head of the crop rotation department (2001). In 2003-2004 he worked as the head of the agricultural department with the right to manage the crop rotation laboratory.

The scientific interests of K.Akhmetov were in the field of agriculture and the improvement of crop rotation. In 1979, he defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of agricultural sciences: “The effectiveness of autumn flat-cutting tillage for barley and oats in the southern karbonate black soil of the Tselinograd region” (Tselinograd). In 1999 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences: "The scientific justification of the crop rotation system in the arid steppe of Northern Kazakhstan" (Almaty).

During the period of scientific activity, K. Akhmetov published more than 60 scientific articles, including 2 monographs.

K. Akhmetov passed away on September 18, 2004 in the village of Scientific, Akmola region.
