Gudzenko Alexander Afanasyevich – one of the leading selectors of the North Kazakhstan gardening, the doctor of agricultural sciences. 

In 1958 to All-Union Scientific research institute have arrived the group of the scientists rehabilitated from the Karaganda camp of prisoners: Zaiytseva A.A., Postoyalkov K. D., Gudzenko A.A. and Mokhov V. A. These people became the main foundation of science at research institute in the north of Kazakhstan.

Gudzenko A.A. defended the dissertation thesis for candidate of agricultural sciences "Experience in breeding new plum varieties in Northern Kazakhstan" (Michurinsk, 1958). In 1965 defended the dissertation for a degree of the doctor of agricultural sciences "The state and prospects of horticulture in Northern Kazakhstan" (All-Union Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Lenin, All-Union scientific research institute for crop production).   

Alexander Afanasiyevich is the author of 2 varieties of apple: “Tselinnoye medovoye” and “Tselinnoye krasnoye”. He began his work with fruit and berry crops in the Dolinsky experimental field (Karaganda region), where he spent many years as a political prisoner of concentration camps. After rehabilitation and release, he was invited to the Shortandy Experimental station, where he developed and headed research work with fruit and berry crops. He bred plum varieties “Dolinskaya krasavitsa” “Dolinskaya vishnevskaya”, “Dolinskaya plakuchaya”. The hybrid form of the rose hip was obtained by crossing the large-fruited Chinese hawthorn with the local rose hip, which was widely propagated for decorative plantings. The fruits of this form, in addition to high palatability, have medicinal properties and are used in traditional medicine to treat hypertension.скачать dle 12.0
