Scientists of the SPC GF named after A. I. Baraev are working closely with akmolinsk farmers
News

These days, in Akmola Region, as throughout the country, the spring field campaign is in full swing, and the region’s agricultural producers have begun sowing on a large scale. In advance of the crucial agricultural season, scientists from the SPC GF named after A.I. Baraev held a series of working meetings with farmers from the Ereymentau, Korgalzhyn, Egingdykol, Zharkain, Zerenda, Atbasar, Shortandy, and Birzhan Sal districts.
The regional agricultural meetings on the preparation and conduct of spring fieldwork in 2026 were attended by E.A. Utelbaev, Head of the Department of Agriculture; laboratory heads A.S. Kochorov, B.R. Irmulatov, B.Zh. Zhanzakov, and A.I. Kurbanbaev, as well as senior researchers B.B. Bazarbaev, V.N. Davydova, and T.B. Nelis.
During the meetings, participants discussed current issues in crop cultivation technology, the specifics of the planting season under current weather conditions, as well as issues related to moisture conservation, the rational use of fertilizers, and plant protection. Farmers had the opportunity to ask the experts questions and receive expert practical advice just before the start of the mass planting season.
Such collaboration is particularly important right now—specifically during the spring fieldwork season. Scientists at the Center continue to maintain constant contact with the region’s agricultural enterprises, providing advisory and technical assistance on emerging operational issues. Prompt communication between the scientific community and agribusiness allows for a timely response to changes in weather conditions, adjustments to specific aspects of agricultural practices, and the implementation of effective decisions during the planting season.
The annual practice of close collaboration between scientists and farmers helps strengthen partnerships between the scientific community and the agricultural sector, improve the efficiency of agricultural operations, and implement modern scientific recommendations in the region’s agricultural sector.
