Shiyaty Evgeny Ivanovich was born on March 25, 1938, in the village of Kupyansk-Uzlovoy, Kupyansky district, Kharkiv region. In 1960 he graduated from the Uman Agricultural Institute in Cherkasy region. In 1960-1961 he was an agronomist at a state farm in the Zaporozhye region. In 1961-1963 he worked as a researcher at the Pavlodar Experimental Station for soil protection from erosion. Since 1963, Evgeny Ivanovich began working at VNIIZH (now the Scientific and Production Center of Grain Farming): a researcher, and then head of the department of soil protection complexes. In 1968 he defended his thesis for the degree of Candidate of Agricultural Sciences “Development of roughness parameters of the wind-resistant surface of southern carbonate chernozems” (Almaty). In 1981 he defended his thesis for the degree of Doctor of Agricultural Sciences “Theoretical and experimental foundations of forecasting wind erosion processes in the design of soil protection measures in Northern Kazakhstan” (Moscow).The main focus of his scientific work was the development of scientific foundations and measures to protect soils from erosion. Evgeny Ivanovich has 2 copyright certificates for inventions.
For more than 30 years, he has worked in various responsible scientific positions at the SPCGF named after A.I. Barayev. He lived in Russia for the last years of his life, but he constantly kept in touch with colleagues and shared his publications on topical issues of agricultural science.
