Winter wheat is not inferior to spring wheat

Today, within the international winter wheat program, the Grain Farming Center named after A.I. Barayev was visited by a group of scientists, including Beikhan Akyn (CYMMIT-Turkey), Amanzhol Aidarov (OmGAU), A.S. Yanovsky (National Grain Center, Central Research Institute named after Lukashenko P.P.) and A.I. Morgunov, international expert, scientist, wheat breeder. Timur Vladimirovich Savin, the head of the Center, presented breeding achievements in various agricultural crops to the attention of foreign colleagues and generally familiarized them with the scientific activities of scientists.During the visit to the field stations, the guests were shown breeding nurseries for spring soft and durum wheat according to the specialization of the Center’s breeding activities.
At the same time, special field experimental plots allocated for winter wheat within the framework of the above-mentioned international project were examined. According to experts, the results of the visual inspection show a very good state of culture, which aims to expand the area of scientific research on the breeding study of winter wheat in the conditions of the northern regions of Kazakhstan.
Moreover, the trend for sowing winter wheat by individual farmers of grain-growing northern regions has already been observed based on the arid weather conditions of recent years.
The participants of the meeting generally noted the productivity of the exchange of views and outlined a number of priorities for combining efforts to expand breeding work, taking into account the new challenges of the time.
