Harvesting spring soft wheat on experimental field plots at the SPC GF named after A.I. Baraev
News

Field research continues at the Scientific and Production Centre of Grain Farming named after A.I. Baraev as part of scientific and technical programme BR24892821 “Breeding and primary seed production of grain crops to increase productivity, quality and stress resistance in various soil and climatic zones of Kazakhstan”.
Harvesting has begun on the experimental plots of the spring soft wheat breeding laboratory. This crop is the main one for Northern Kazakhstan, and its in-depth study is aimed at creating varieties with high yields, grain quality and resistance to adverse factors. The laboratory's work not only allows for the evaluation of current promising lines, but also forms the basis for future varieties that meet standards. The results obtained will be used to select the best samples, submit new varieties for state variety testing, and produce original and elite seeds. This will ensure the further development of domestic breeding, expand the genetic diversity of spring soft wheat, and strengthen Kazakhstani position as a country with high grain export potential.
Thus, research and practical work within the BR24892821 programme lay the foundation for the long-term development of grain farming, increased food security and the introduction of innovative solutions in the country's agricultural sector.
